Eric Afflerbach is a fine art photographer from Floral Park, NY. Eric’s work, often self-portraiture, explores his queerness and the subconscious through the use of projections, prisms, and camera lens filters. His brightly colored, surreal images are influenced by his love for horror movies, and serve to both celebrate his queerness as well as explore the darkness that we all carry within ourselves.

Eric’s work has been exhibited both in the United States and internationally, including at the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art in New Paltz, NY, the SpacePlace Gallery in Nizhny Tagil, Russia, and the Broadway Arts Gallery in Kingston, NY. His work has also been featured in online galleries such as Don’t Take Pictures, NY Photo Curator, and the In Art Gallery.

In 2022, Eric graduated from State University of New York at New Paltz with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Photography. That same year he received the Luigi and Anita Traverso Photography Award Endowment, and was awarded the Frank and Gertrude Eckelt Fine Arts Memorial Scholarship the year prior.
