Is He...You Know seeks to understand the feelings of shame and fear that I have in being openly gay. The images, created through the use of projections, prisms, and camera lens filters which distort my body and face, are loosely inspired by the tropes and atmospheres of horror movies. In the brightly colored, kaleidoscopic world I’ve created, I’m exploring the queerness that I’ve longed to embrace, but have been hiding out of fear.

Sharing the beauty in my queerness signifies my growing confidence with being visibly gay, despite the stigma and hatred that is projected onto me.
